Job Summary

The role will be responsible for initiating and executing field service activities at customer sites in a safe and efficient manner.

This role works with more advanced and multi/complex systems, proactively troubleshoots systems, works with mechanical, electrical, diesel equipment conditions, conducts preventative maintenance, manages parts inventory, and anticipates and corrects safety issues (both Company and Customer owned equipment).

Has direct interfacing with customers and may be responsible for work in multiple systems, locations, or customers.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Carry out professional service and emergency repair work on pumping and associated equipment at customers' premises and workshops.
  • Maintain all relevant documentation and reports for work undertaken, consistent with company policies and quality assurance procedures.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and vehicle conforming to all necessary ESH requirements.
  • Perform on-site commissioning and control panel settings as per application requirements.
  • Inspect and test products prior to dispatch to customers.
  • Maintain service records using written records for future reference and to comply with all Quality Assurance Procedures.
  • Provide timely and accurate advice and feedback to support staff and customers on service and product-related issues, both orally and in writing.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and provide input on rental activities.
  • Actively participate in audits for QA and ESH systems and practices.
  • Perform standby duties.
  • Support the Rental Manager by leading technicians through scheduling and implementation of preventative maintenance plans.
Requirements
  • National Senior Certificate or equivalent.
  • Qualified Diesel Mechanic with exposure to auto-electrical and engine controls.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience with industrial engines, with at least 3 years in a customer-facing field service environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years' supervisory experience.
  • Exposure to CAT, Perkins, and Volvo industrial engines.
  • Experience with pumps is an advantage.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite.
  • Valid passport and driver's license (Code 08 or higher).
  • Willingness to travel.
