Job summary

Ingersoll Rand plc is seeking a field service professional to inspect, service, repair and test customer products on-site and in-house. The role includes preparing inspection reports, training customers and employees, and identifying spares and service opportunities.

With a focus on centrifugal, rotary screw and piston compressors, the candidate must read blueprints and perform mathematical calculations. Travel to customer sites is up to 90% as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 certificate and millwright trade test required.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of rotating machinery and compressors.
• Ability to read blueprints and perform mathematical calculations.
• Willingness to travel 90% to customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Provides diagnostic analysis, repair and/or preventative maintenance of customer products in service shops or installations at customer locations.
• Prepares and submits written reports of in-house or site visit inspections with recommendations.
• Trains employees, customers and vendors in correct operation and maintenance of product.
• Be able to identify spares & service opportunities & compile quotes and submit them to new and existing customers.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
