Field Service Technician - Commissioning

Our client, a well-known Maritime Cranes & Construction Machines company, is seeking a Field Service Technician for KZN.

Qualifications:

• Degree / NQF6 or NQF7 or Diploma

Experience & Skills:

• Proven technical skills with hands-on experience in industrial automation, drive systems, and H.V equipment.
• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in commissioning, servicing, and maintenance of large industrial systems. Experience with cranes is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Oversee commissioning, testing, and handover of STS, RTG & RMG Cranes, including managing on-site activities to ensure operational readiness and customer satisfaction.
2. Provide field service support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for cranes.
3. Collaborate with internal teams and customers to meet project deliverables, resolve technical issues, and ensure client satisfaction.
4. Travel regularly within KZN region.
5. Complete testing procedures and handover documentation, and prepare technical reports post-project.
6. Execute commissioning activities such as start-up, hardware verification, calibration, and software testing.
7. Train and support customer personnel on crane operation and maintenance.
8. Perform troubleshooting, repairs, routine maintenance, diagnostics, and software updates on cranes.
9. Respond promptly to technical support requests and ensure compliance with safety standards.
10. Liaise with customers and provide feedback for product improvement.
11. Mentor junior technicians and assist in protocol improvements.
