Job Title: Field Service Technician – Automation, Centurion, Gauteng

We are seeking a dedicated Field Service Technician - Automation to join our team. Your primary responsibility will be providing professional technical support to Metso's customers, executing technical services at customer sites, and contributing to customer satisfaction and operational improvements.

Reporting Line

You will report to the Field Service Technician Supervisor and work mainly in Centurion.

Team You Belong To

You will be part of a team of technicians committed to delivering seamless technical solutions, supporting sales efforts, and maintaining excellent customer relationships. Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders is essential to ensure safety, technical support, and customer satisfaction.

Your Responsibilities

1. Deliver technical services at customer sites, including troubleshooting, operation, and maintenance instructions.
2. Conduct service contract site visits, repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance.
3. Assist with installation and startup of pre-assembled products.
4. Provide technical support and discipline work at sites.
5. Identify sales opportunities and promote service offerings.
6. Train customers on operation and maintenance procedures.
7. Prepare site reports, timesheets, and expense reports post-job.
8. Ensure compliance with QEHS regulations and perform safety inspections.
9. Use PPE appropriately and report unsafe conditions.

Qualifications and Skills

• Matric (Grade 12) and a Diploma/Degree in Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering.
• Background in mining, metals, or metallurgical processing.
• Knowledge of Metso Analyzer and Filter technologies (advantage).
• Proven troubleshooting skills and ability to produce professional reports and presentations.
• Ability to work independently in high-pressure environments.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Teamwork and customer relationship skills.
• Reliable, ethical, professional attitude.
• Willingness to travel up to 75%.
