Qualifications

Job description

We are seeking a qualified Field Service Technician with the following requirements:

  • Must be fluent in Afrikaans
  • Must have a driver’s license
  • Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineer qualification
  • Experience in end-user repairs and/or technical sales of vacuum pumps, water pumps, compressors, valves, measuring instrumentation, leak detectors, or other industrial equipment sold to markets such as food processing, automotive, chemical & pharma, plastics, medical, water & wastewater

Responsibilities:

  • Proficient communication with customers, verbally and via email daily
  • Professional and courteous customer interactions
  • Calling on existing and new customers, maintaining and growing relationships
  • Identifying new prospects and cold calling potential customers
  • Setting and pursuing sales targets to generate new pump sales
  • Growing the field service business, including securing active service contracts
  • Tracking previous services and encouraging repeat business
  • Generating service repair sales for the workshop
  • Driving new sales of pumps, spares, and systems
  • On-site problem solving and equipment installation/repair
  • Willingness to travel within Africa; must have a valid passport
  • Developing and implementing sales strategies with the team
  • Completing required reports on time (weekly and monthly)
  • Building relationships with technicians, engineers, maintenance managers, consultants, contractors, distributors, and end users
  • Providing accurate and timely feedback to management
