Role Headline

Performs technical, mainly pre-defined tasks for accomplishing defined service delivery work for customer equipment.

Role Description

Completes a broad scope of technical tasks including commissioning, maintenance, repairs, and evaluation of customer equipment and systems. Determines priorities and schedules measures accordingly. Supports customers remotely and onsite, providing 2nd and 3rd level user support. Contributes to the maintenance and improvement of internal tools, equipment, processes, and data repositories. Assists in estimation, planning, and review of technical tasks supporting project acquisition, negotiation, planning, and management. Adheres to relevant processes and regulations. May manage sub-contractors and monitor delivery. May be involved in technical design and development of service offerings.

Responsibilities of the Role
  • Render professional services including plant and preventative maintenance, commissioning, system design assistance, upgrades, repairs, retrofits, technical audits, hotline activities, and breakdown service on a 24-hour basis.
  • Execute work cost-effectively, following procedures, customer specifications, and safety regulations.
  • Verify and update Technical Hardware & Software documentation and communicate updates to relevant teams.
  • Identify training needs and maintain competence in systems and product technologies.
  • Ensure availability of diagnostic tools, testing equipment, spares, and documentation.
  • Participate in marketing and selling of services/products, assist in tenders, service contracts, and quotations, and develop service concepts and pricing structures.
  • Train and develop team members.
Qualifications and Experience
  • National Diploma / B Tech / Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics.
  • 3-5 years of Field Service experience as a Technician or Engineer.
  • Knowledge of Siemens products is advantageous.
  • Experience in drives repairs and commissioning: Micromaster, Sinamics, DC Drives (6RA70, 6RA80).
  • Experience with Simocodes, PLCs, and Softstarters is advantageous.
  • Willing to work overtime, perform standby duties, and travel to customer sites.
