PURPOSE : Gauteng Pretoria

Effective desktop support and incident management, including other IT requirements and projects. The successful candidate must be located in Pretoria and will provide support to various client locations and surrounding areas. Own reliable vehicle is required due to the support locations.

Duties & Responsibilities

Formal Education :

  • Grade 12

Experience :

  • 4-7 years experience in IT software and hardware support, including end-user support, troubleshooting skills, network exposure, and understanding of Service Level Agreements.

Technical / Legal Certification :

  • IT Diploma / certificate
  • CompTIA A
  • CompTIA N
  • CompTIA Server
  • ITIL v3 Foundation Certification (advantageous)
  • MCSE (Advantageous)

Key Performance Areas

  • End-user support: Resolve logged incidents as per client contract
  • Deliver customer service: Communicate clearly and display a positive attitude
  • Quality incident resolution: Ensure incidents are resolved on first contact within SLA
  • Compliance: Follow all relevant rules and procedures
  • Data input: Ensure accurate data capture on Resolve IT according to ITIL standards
  • Preventative maintenance: Identify risks and report to Team Lead
  • Hardware support: Deploy, monitor, repair, and manage desktop and notebook hardware; manage Windows OS, Office software, printers, scanners, faxes
  • Setup and testing: Setup desktops and peripherals, test network connections, install software
  • Diagnostics: Ask targeted questions, guide users, conduct remote troubleshooting, test solutions
  • Application customization: Tailor desktop applications to Gijima standards
  • System testing: Ensure proper functioning of computer systems
  • Policy adherence: Follow corporate policies and directives
  • Preinstallation audits: Conduct audits for printer optimization
  • Compliance: Follow client checklists and SOPs
  • Task management: Close tasks/incidents in Resolve IT in real-time
  • Policy compliance: Follow company processes and policies
  • Operational expenses: Record and manage expenses accurately
  • Tools management: Manage assets like cellphones, iPads
  • Standby/overtime: May be required on an ad hoc basis

Other Requirements :

  • Valid driver's license (Code B)
  • Minimum 5 years driving experience
  • Clear criminal record
  • Ability to work independently
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to grasp new technology and tools for repairs
