Role Context

The Field Sales Executive will consult with business owners and introduce them to the #1 Logistics Company in the world. As a sales professional at DHL, you will own a territory and lead the largest, most complex, and strategically significant negotiations, reaching agreements that significantly impact DHL's bottom line.

The Field Sales Executive will maintain a high level of customer service with existing customers and leverage relationships to expand business. Additionally, the sales professional will actively monitor and review customer sales activity and make adjustments to processes and strategies to help the business grow.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Visit all clients in the respective base within the 90-day call cycle.
  2. Build revenue streams with current customers and evaluate opportunities to increase the relationship through face-to-face visits, problem solving, and administrative follow-up.
  3. Investigate new business potential at existing clients during visits.
  4. Plan and perform 6 client visits per day, including maintenance, development, and acquisition visits.
  5. Schedule daily client visits at least a week in advance, as far as reasonably possible.
  6. Obtain at least 4 First Time Buyers (FTBs) per month.
  7. Uncover new business opportunities within the territory by cultivating leads and utilizing your network.
  8. Develop and implement strategies to secure major account prospects quickly.
  9. Keep customer loss below 10 per month.
  10. Identify and address risks to customer relationships or sales figures proactively to prevent revenue loss.
  11. Manage customer concerns or complaints promptly following DHL procedures to prevent customer attrition.
  12. Maintain a sales pipeline with a strength of 40% of total portfolio revenue at all times.
  13. Grow Shipments Per Day (SPD) figures according to local/country objectives.
  14. Plan and execute best practices in sales to continuously increase revenue in the territory.
  15. Collaborate with Sales, Finance, and Operations teams to maximize sales and revenue growth.
  16. Update client visit, information, sales activity, and other data daily using CRM tools.
Education & Experience
  • Matric / Grade 12
  • Commercial Degree / Diploma or related
  • At least 3 years of experience in Field Sales within a related industry
  • Valid Driver's License and own reliable transport
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills (verbal and written)
