Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Field Maintenance Technician to join their property services team in Paarl . This role is essential for ensuring the optimal functioning and upkeep of various building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical components. You will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, diagnosing issues, and executing repairs to ensure the safety, comfort, and operational efficiency of our facilities. The ideal candidate has a strong practical understanding of building systems, is proactive in identifying potential problems, and committed to delivering high-quality service on-site.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other building systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, identifying root causes and implementing necessary repairs.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, ensuring minimal disruption to building occupants.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities performed in the designated CMMS system .
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, building codes, and company policies while on site in Paarl .
• Assist with minor installation tasks and upgrades as required by the facilities management team.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or in a similar role focusing on building systems.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building maintenance practices.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and standard maintenance equipment .
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics .
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• A valid driver's license and a commitment to on-site service delivery are required.
