Join Our Team as a Field Engineer (Dell Certified) – 3 months contract!

Are you an experienced Dell Certified Engineer looking for an opportunity to put your expertise to work? At Getronics, we are looking for a skilled Field Engineer to provide top-notch IT support and maintenance for Dell client laptops in Durban, South Africa.

This role is critical to ensuring smooth IT operations for our clients, and we need someone who can hit the ground running.

If you are Dell-certified or have hands-on experience with Dell laptops and can quickly get up to speed with a 2-day certification training, we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform on-site troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance for Dell laptops.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues efficiently.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and ensure client equipment is in optimal condition.
  • Replace and upgrade components such as hard drives, RAM, batteries, and motherboards.
  • Work closely with clients and internal support teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Document work performed, issues encountered, and solutions implemented.
  • Ensure compliance with Dell service protocols and industry best practices.

What You’ll Need:

  • Dell Certification to work on client laptops (or relevant hands-on experience with Dell devices, with willingness to complete a 2-day training).
  • Proven experience in field engineering, hardware repairs, or IT support.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, troubleshooting tools, and diagnostics.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to client locations within Durban.
