CORE PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Design product layouts for retail leaflets, digital / social media, and POS materials.

Ensure that artwork is accurate, visually appealing, and compliant with client corporate identity specifications and print-ready requirements.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

1. Receive briefs from clients.
2. Set up artwork according to briefing, print or digital requirements, and corporate identity specifications.
3. Ensure all images, spreads, and bleeds meet machine requirements.
4. Discuss and determine detailed DTP job requirements with the repro or technical team.
5. Verify all content and information are accurate before beginning a job.
6. Produce and check proofs against required specifications before delivering to clients.
7. Make corrections as needed until client satisfaction is achieved.
8. Check color separations and overprint electronically.
9. Analyze, identify, and advise the technical team or repro supervisor of potential print issues.

1. Accuracy of produced artwork.
2. Turnaround time for proofs and delivery to clients.
3. Accurate time tracking for all work performed.

NATURE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB

Must be able to:

1. Understand and set up artwork according to technical specifications and client requirements.
2. Output files according to technical specifications using prescribed DTP software packages.
3. Understand company processes and systems to assess workflow requirements.
4. Multi-task and work under pressure.
5. Use a variety of fonts, images, and colors (dpi, CMYK).
6. Utilize Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and digital applications effectively.
7. Output files according to technical specifications using various software packages.

PETENCIES REQUIRED

Experience: A tertiary qualification in DTP and 10 years of relevant experience in DTP design/layout with a solid knowledge of the printing and digital industries.

Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:

1. Experience in creating leaflet layouts for retail groups.
2. Understanding of desktop publishing skills and techniques on an Apple Mac platform.
3. Proficiency in DTP software packages.
4. Strong organizational skills.
5. Effective oral and written communication skills.
