Placements24 is seeking an experienced Drilling Supervisor in Rustenburg, North West to oversee on-site drilling operations. The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance in challenging field environments.

You will lead crews, monitor performance, coordinate equipment and mud programs, maintain daily reports, and liaise with service providers and regulators to ensure operational excellence. This is a field-based role requiring extended hours and irregular schedules.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in drilling operations in Oil & Gas, with at least 5 years in supervision.
• IWCF certification required.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work extended hours and irregular schedules on rig sites.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all aspects of drilling operations on the rig site, ensuring adherence to drilling programs and safety procedures.
• Lead and direct drilling crews, fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, and efficiency.
• Monitor drilling performance, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions promptly.
• Ensure all drilling equipment is properly maintained, operated, and inspected according to standards.
• Oversee the execution of drilling fluid programs, cementing operations, and well control procedures.
• Maintain accurate daily drilling reports, including operational progress, equipment status, and personnel activities.
• Conduct regular safety meetings and toolbox talks, ensuring all personnel are aware of hazards and safety protocols.
• Manage inventory of drilling consumables and equipment on the rig.
• Liaise with company representatives, service providers, and regulatory bodies as required.
• Respond effectively to emergency situations and implement contingency plans.
