YOUR ROLE
The successful candidate will be responsible for Sourcing of botanical raw materials, Supplier/Farm management - ensuring timely sourcing, cost-effectiveness, and quality of goods and services for the Botanical BU within the Doehler Quality framework.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sourcing of raw material for existing and new Botanical product development.
- Identifying potential/new farms and suppliers, evaluating their capabilities, negotiating volumes, quality requirements, quality testing. Develop and implement at Farm/Source raw material testing with R&D department.
- Farm / Supplier: Manage the sample and quality testing process from start to finish within Doehler Quality & R&D framework.
- Managing relationships to ensure sustainable supply.
- Analyzing market trends, supply strategy and purchasing data to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize purchasing strategies.
- Working with internal stakeholders ie Supply Chain / Product Management / Production and R&D to understand needs, ensure alignment and uninterrupted supply of Botanical Raw material.
- Cultivating strong relationships with farm/ suppliers to ensure mutually beneficial collaborations.
- Ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures, as well as relevant industry regulations.
- Problem solving at farm and supplier level and understanding the implications in Doehler production and quality of final product
- Visiting Farms / supplier locations, field offices, or facilities as needed to assess needs, manage relationships, or conduct site visits.
YOUR EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Relevant Diploma or Degree in related field would be an advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills: Effectively interacting with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and other departments.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills: Analyzing data, identifying trends, and resolving issues related to purchasing and supply chain.
- Organizational and time management skills: Managing multiple tasks, prioritizing deadlines, and maintaining accurate records.
- Knowledge of Supply Chain Management and Procurement Practices: Understanding of industry standards, best practices, and relevant regulations.
- Experience in the sourcing of Botanical Raw materials
- Some production experience in F&B would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of South African botanical landscape.
- Knowledge of first step Agri processing.
- Desire to be fully trained in DSA Botanical Business Unit - from farm to finished goods.
