Job summary

Agrijob seeks a technically strong Technical Field Officer to join its Delmas district operations, delivering agronomic support to contract farmers and the company. This field-based role focuses on improving crop performance, yield, and overall production efficiency through practical, commercially sound recommendations.

The candidate should have 2-5 years in technical support or crop production, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level qualification in agriculture or equivalent is preferred.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and lead as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide agronomic advice and crop production guidance to contract farmers.
• Conduct field inspections, crop assessments and monitoring to identify production constraints.
• Advise on cultivar selection, planting practices, soil preparation and tillage based on conditions.
• Offer guidance on soil fertility, fertilisation, plant nutrition, pH management and nutrient management.
• Assess crop performance and intervention effectiveness to improve yields over time.
• Demonstrate leadership and build strong relationships with farmers.
