Job summary

Herotel Telecoms (Pty) Ltd is seeking a meticulous Fibre Planner to join our Network team in Plattekloof or Tshwane. You will own fibre network planning from site surveys to final designs and project submissions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to standards.

You bring a planning mindset, strong organisation and at least 3–4 years in fibre optic planning, plus two years in project management. A driver’s license and own transport are required.

Qualifications

• 3 to 4 years' experience in fibre optic planning
• Minimum of two years' project management experience
• Professional knowledge of relevant legislation, schemes, policies and guidelines
• Excellent research skills
• Excellent organisation skills, including the ability to plan, prioritise, coordinate and control work
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
• Strong problem solving and time management skills
• A team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Plan and organise draughting and planning resources, bringing your fibre design expertise to the process
• Plan work based on priorities assigned by the Regional General Manager
• Organise the resources needed to complete the work
• Arrange and conduct site surveys to ensure planning accounts for local conditions
• Ensure adherence to standards and best practice throughout the planning process
• Develop underground and aerial optical fibre route designs
• Survey sites and determine optimal fibre routes for draughting
• Derive a final Bill of Materials from the Draughtsperson's plans
• Prepare survey reports and package project submissions
• Handle or assist with Wayleave submissions
• Keep as built drawings and splice plans up to date based on feedback from field teams

Are you a detail oriented planner with a passion for fibre network design? Join our Network team as a Fibre Planner in Plattekloof or Tshwane, where you'll take ownership of the fibre network planning process, from site surveys through to final designs and project submissions.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys structured problem solving, thrives under pressure and takes pride in producing accurate, well documented fibre designs.

What you'll do:

What you'll need:

• An Urban/Town and Regional Planning Degree or relevant three year qualification
• 3 to 4 years' experience in fibre optic planning will be beneficial
• Minimum of two years' project management experience
• A valid driver's license and own transport
• Professional knowledge of relevant legislation, schemes, policies and guidelines
• Excellent research skills
• Excellent organisation skills, including the ability to plan, prioritise, coordinate and control work
