The role requires 7+ years in telecom deployment, with at least 4 years in fiber optics, plus strong PM, budgeting, and regulatory know‑how, and a valid driver’s license for on‑site leadership.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 7+ years in telecommunications infrastructure deployment, with at least 4 years specifically in fiber optic network projects.
• Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
• In-depth knowledge of fiber optic cable types, installation techniques, splicing, testing, and network standards.
• Experience managing budgets, schedules, and multiple field teams.
• Strong understanding of local regulations and permitting processes related to infrastructure deployment in Gauteng.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• A valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate all phases of fiber optic network deployment projects, from initiation to closure.
• Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Supervise field teams, contractors, and external vendors to ensure adherence to project specifications and safety standards.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Ensure quality control throughout the deployment process, including cable installation, splicing, and testing.
• Liaise with local authorities and stakeholders to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
• Manage project budgets and track expenditures to ensure financial targets are met.
• Conduct regular site inspections and project reviews to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Prepare and present project status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
