Position: Fermentation Technologist

Primary Purpose of Position
The role of the Fermentation Technologist in the Production environment is to independently and as directed plan and conduct the manufacturing of bacterial antigen for biopharmaceutical products using bioreactors to ensure that work is completed within required turnaround times. This includes equipment monitoring and minor equipment maintenance, conforming to internal quality standards and working effectively with the relevant business service units to achieve these objectives. As for all team members, the Technologist is expected to champion Deltamune’s promise, brand, standards and values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all bacterial antigens are manufactured in accordance with product and equipment specifications
- Manufacture and produce bacterial antigen related to Formulation
- Interpretation of data with the intent to identify possible product/equipment failures or to serve as continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensuring adherence to departmental turnaround times (TAT’s)
- Performing general bacterial antigen preparation and advance preparation required to effectively and efficiently produce bacterial antigens
- Completion of all written records during and after completion of fermentation production processes and review of production batch files of own bacterial antigen (Verification of formulations etc.)
- Maintain plant cleaning and hygiene management for your area to meet the required standard (Inc. passages, storerooms and fridges)
- Conducting all general work practices in accordance with OHS and Quality Assurance Policies and Procedures
- Contribute to the planning, design, construction and commissioning of new equipment and process trends as required by the Operation Manager, Line Manager and QC/QA department
Minimum Requirements:
- 1 to 2 Year’s Laboratory/ Production Environment experience required
- Ability to plan, prioritise and organise efficiently
- Must be able to work under pressure, and be result orientated
- Critical thinking and problem solving

Qualifications:
National Diploma/Degree in Veterinary Technology/ Biotechnology/ Food Safety/ Analytical Chemistry / Bachelor of Science degree
