Job summary

Fruitways seeks a hands-on Maintenance Manager for our Farming unit, based in the Grabouw/Vyeboom corridor with travel between farming units. You will lead maintenance, plan capital projects and drive asset management across operations, ensuring safety and governance standards are met.

You will manage budgets, supervise technical and contractor teams, and develop preventive maintenance frameworks to sustain farming infrastructure and equipment.

Qualifications

• N6 with Trade Test, National Diploma, B.Tech or B.Eng in Mechanical / Civil Engineering with strong maintenance experience.
• Minimum 6+ years' experience in supervisory or management role within maintenance / engineering.
• Advanced software skills for maintenance dashboards, analysis and predictions.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance of buildings, dams, roads, bulk water supply and security systems.
• Planning and execution of infrastructure-related capital projects.
• Management of water, wastewater and solid waste services across farming operations.
• Oversight of assets including vehicles, fleet and farming equipment.
• Development of preventative maintenance schedules and asset management systems.
• Leadership and development of technical staff, contractors and service providers.
• Accountability for maintenance and capital budgets.
• Ensuring safety, operational and governance standards compliance.
