Job summary

HotelJobs is seeking a Breakfast Chef for a high-end dining outlet on a wine estate near Franschhoek. You will take full responsibility for breakfast service, lead the kitchen team, ensure seasonal, fresh, organic offerings, and maintain meticulous preparation and stock control.

You will work closely with the Head Chef and Front Desk, manage duty rosters, monitor costs, and train junior staff to uphold five-star standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• A relevant culinary qualification.
• Similar experience within a 5* Hotel or fine dining restaurant.
• Excellent knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
• Strong knowledge of kitchen management, food costing and inventory control.
• Ability to confidently operate within a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership abilities to guide junior kitchen staff.
• Preference will be given to candidates from Franschhoek and neighbouring areas.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all guests are cared for individually, meeting dietary requirements and preparing meals accordingly.
• Ensure the food served meets the expected standards and maintains the restaurant's reputation.
• Assist Head Chef with stock control, menu planning and cost management.
• Lead the breakfast service team and provide hands-on training for junior staff.
• Maintain seasonal, fresh, and organic breakfast offerings and monitor wastage.
