Placements24 is seeking a practical and motivated Farm Supervisor to oversee daily operations on a mixed crop and livestock farm in Sandton. You will guide a team of farmhands, manage daily tasks, and ensure adherence to work schedules and safety standards.

The role requires hands-on experience with farm machinery, knowledge of animal husbandry and crop production, and strong leadership and communication skills to drive productivity on site.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in general farm operations, with exposure to crops and livestock.
• Hands-on experience with farm machinery operation and basic maintenance.
• Knowledge of animal husbandry and crop production techniques.
• Good communication and leadership skills to manage a team.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct the daily work activities of farm laborers in both crop and livestock departments.
• Ensure proper care, feeding, and health monitoring of livestock according to established protocols.
• Oversee crop planting, cultivation, pest control, and harvesting activities as directed by the Farm Manager.
• Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order.
• Monitor inventory of feed, supplies, and equipment, reporting needs to management.
• Enforce safety regulations and best practices on the farm to prevent accidents and ensure a secure working environment.
