Qualifications

• Matric and a relevant tertiary qualification.
• Minimum 5 years’ management experience in the agricultural sector.
• Logistics background advantageous.
• Technical/Mechanical background advantageous.
• Team leadership in a high-pressure environment; deadline driven.
• Must be computer literate.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Management of Farm Services teams and planning and controlling of Live Bird operations.
• Managing all labour related issues such as discipline, recruitment, training, time and attendance.
• Maximise production and ensure that work quality is at required standards.
• Managing projects and planning of work schedules.
• Reporting and budget control.
• Managing Risk Control, Occupational Health and Safety, Bio-Security requirements and Standards as per relevant legislation and Astral SOPs.
• Responsible for company assets.
• Implementation and maintaining the 20 Keys system.
• Procurement of bedding material for poultry farms.
