About the Role

Our client, a significant agricultural producer in the Nelspruit region, is looking for a competent and results-oriented Farm Business Manager. This role focuses on the strategic and financial management of crop farming operations. The Farm Business Manager will be responsible for optimizing productivity, controlling costs, ensuring compliance, and driving profitability through effective business planning and execution. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of crop science, market dynamics, financial management, and team leadership. This is an on-site position requiring active engagement with farm operations and personnel in the Nelspruit area. The company is committed to sustainable practices and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive business plans for crop production operations.
• Manage farm budgets, including forecasting, expenditure control, and financial reporting.
• Oversee all aspects of crop cultivation, from planning and planting to harvesting and storage.

Requirements

• Proven financial management skills, including budgeting, P&L analysis, and cost control.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience managing teams effectively.
• Familiarity with agricultural machinery, technology, and farm management software.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hands-on environment and communicate clearly with staff.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to work on-site near Nelspruit.
• Understanding of sustainable farming principles is a plus.
