Job summary

AJ Personnel is seeking a Production Planner to drive the production schedule, coordinate daily priorities and lead shop-floor teams. The role focuses on monitoring progress, maintaining adherence to completion dates and addressing bottlenecks to ensure on-time delivery.

The candidate will coordinate fabrication, assembly and electrical activities, while supporting the Factory Manager in overall production control and ensuring quality processes are followed.

Qualifications

• Matric/Grade 12; technical qualification is advantageous.
• Experience in production coordination, planning, supervision or factory operations.
• Experience monitoring progress against schedules and deadlines.
• Ability to identify and manage bottlenecks, delays and constraints.
• Experience coordinating shop-floor teams and/or production personnel.
• Understanding of production flow, WIP and handovers between stages.
• Proficient with Excel, Outlook and MS Projects.

Responsibilities

• Drive the production schedule/production plan.
• Coordinate daily production priorities.
• Direct Shop-Floor Leads.
• Monitor production progress against the project plan.
• Ensure activities align with completion dates.
• Follow work through from start to finish.
• Identify and address bottlenecks.
• Coordinate handovers between production stages.
• Escalate issues affecting delivery, quality or schedule.
• Coordinate fabrication, assembly and electrical activities.
• Maintain visibility of work in progress.
• Ensure production priorities remain clear on the shop floor.
• Support effective utilisation of skilled labour.
• Coordinate movement of production units through manufacturing.
• Assist Factory Manager in maintaining overall production control.
• Ensure quality check sheets and processes are adhered to.
