Lead strategic operations with a strong focus on cost, efficiency, and continuous improvement. This is a key long-term succession planning role within a lean manufacturing environment.
Our client is a well-established player in the manufacturing industry, known for delivering consistent quality and operational excellence. The company operates in a fast-paced environment and prioritises cost efficiency, continuous improvement, and sustainable practices.
The Operations Manager will be responsible for driving the company’s strategic and operational goals across all manufacturing functions. This includes ensuring optimal productivity, managing resources effectively, and embedding lean principles across operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, succession planning focus, and a proven ability to drive efficiency and long-term improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage daily operations across multiple departments to ensure optimal output and efficiency.
  2. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce operational waste.
  3. Analyse and interpret operational data to inform decision-making and ensure cost-effective production.
  4. Implement and sustain lean manufacturing practices, including 5S and Gemba zones.
  5. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards across the plant.
  6. Manage performance and alignment of outsourced labour to meet operational standards.
  7. Oversee preventative and corrective maintenance schedules to maximise equipment uptime.
  8. Conduct research and implement new technologies and processes to improve operational performance.
  9. Drive cost control measures across all areas, including labour, maintenance, and material usage.
  10. Support and lead strategic projects aligned with business goals.
  11. Manage staffing functions, including performance management, training, development, and recruitment.

Requirements:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  2. Minimum 10 years’ experience in a senior operations role within a medium to large manufacturing environment
  3. Strong background in lean manufacturing and business improvement
  4. Experience in managing cross-functional teams and complex operational processes
  5. Proficient in using management systems and analytical tools for operational decision-making

Remuneration:
Market-related salary based on experience
