Job summary

Dante Personnel is seeking a seasoned Operations Manager to oversee production and maintenance within a heavy industry setting in South Africa.

The role requires extensive experience leading production teams, planning and optimising production activities, and ensuring quality and safety compliance across the plant.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification required.
• Minimum 10 years' management experience.
• Minimum 10 years' experience within manufacturing, granite processing/mining or heavy industry.
• Experience in managing production teams.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance planning and production optimisation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the production team.
• Plan and optimise the production activities.
• Ensure preventative maintenance coordination and minimise equipment downtime.
• Manage the export/local shipping logistics.
• Monitor and control production costs, procurement, stock control of stores, slabs and blocks.
• Ensure strict quality control measures are in place.
• Manage the HR function.
• Ensure factory compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act.
