Job summary

Hire Resolve is seeking an experienced Factory & Maintenance Manager to oversee our Cape Town operations at a leading industrial manufacturing company. You will manage factory and maintenance activities, including compressors, oxygen concentrators, electrical systems and PLC-driven processes, with hands‑on fault finding and project work.

The role requires a BSc Engineering or equivalent, 5+ years in manufacturing, strong leadership, and willingness to travel across Africa.

Qualifications

• Requires a BSc Engineering or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years in manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Minimum 5 years with compressors.
• Minimum 5 years of managerial experience.
• Strong mechanical and electrical technical experience.
• Proven experience with compressor and oxygen concentrator maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee factory and maintenance operations within a manufacturing environment.
• Manage and maintain compressors, oxygen concentrators and associated equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve compressor and equipment faults.
• Perform and oversee preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
• Provide technical support for oxygen and gas‑generating systems and on‑site installations.
• Manage and supervise maintenance and technical personnel.
• Develop, troubleshoot and maintain PLC‑controlled systems.
• Undertake PLC programming and software programming as required.
• Work with Delta PLC systems and associated software.
• Use measurement, monitoring and gas analysis equipment to diagnose and assess equipment performance.
• Design and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation using AutoCAD.
• Assist with electrical panel design and assembly.
• Apply strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to technical and operational challenges.
• Support technical projects and installations across Africa when required.
• Ensure equipment and factory operations remain reliable, efficient and fit for purpose.

A leading industrial manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Factory & Maintenance Manager with strong experience in manufacturing, mechanical and electrical maintenance, compressors, oxygen‑generating systems, PLC programming and technical project work to join their team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will oversee factory and maintenance operations while providing hands‑on technical expertise, fault‑finding and problem‑solving support across compressors, oxygen concentrators, electrical systems and associated equipment. The role requires a technically strong manager who is comfortable with PLC programming, electrical design, technical drawings and travel throughout Africa when required.

Requirements:

• BSc Engineering degree, or relevant Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering.


• Minimum 5 years' experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.


• Minimum 5 years' experience working with compressors.


• Minimum 5 years' managerial experience.


• Strong mechanical and electrical technical experience.


• Proven experience with compressor and oxygen concentrator maintenance.


• Mandatory PLC programming experience.


• Mandatory software programming experience.


• Strong experience with Delta PLC systems.


• Knowledge of WPLSoft 2.5 and DOPSoft 4.00 series is highly advantageous.


• Strong AutoCAD proficiency, particularly for electrical design and technical drawings.


• Experience in electrical panel design and assembly.


• Experience with vacuum pump systems/design.


• Experience with oxygen/gas‑generating systems and on‑site gas generation installations.


• Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving capabilities, particularly relating to compressors and associated equipment.


• Experience using gas analysers and other measurement and monitoring equipment.


• Strong analytical and technical abilities.


• Proven managerial and leadership capabilities.


• Willingness to travel throughout Africa when required.


• Must already be based in the Cape Town area; relocation is not available.


• Must be available to commence employment on 1 September 2026.
