Job summary

TrudyQ Consulting seeks a Factory & Maintenance Manager in Cape Town to lead factory operations, manage production staff and support electrical installations for gas-generating systems. The role requires a strong technical background, 5+ years in manufacturing/technical industries, and hands-on experience with Delta PLC systems.

The ideal candidate will oversee maintenance teams, travel within Africa when needed, and drive safety, quality and efficiency in all factory activities.

Qualifications

• Relevant Degree / Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in manufacturing/technical industrial industry.
• Proven managerial experience.
• Mandatory experience with Delta PLC systems and programming.
• Knowledge of WPLSoft 2.5 and DOPSoft 4.00 series is advantageous.
• Strong AutoCAD proficiency for electrical design and technical drawings.
• Experience in electrical panel design and assembly.
• Experience with compressors and/or vacuum pump systems.
• Experience with oxygen/gas-generating systems and on-site gas generation installations.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving capabilities with compressors and equipment.
• Experience using gas analysers and other measurement equipment.
• Willingness to travel throughout Africa.
• Must be based in Cape Town; relocation not an option.

Responsibilities

• Assess customer needs and compile BOM and drawings for quotations.
• Compile purchase requisitions for maintenance and installations.
• Provide consistent support to maintenance teams and customers.
• Monitor preventative maintenance across branches.
• Ensure cost-effective production of Gas Generating Systems in factory.
• Oversee service and maintenance activities where there are no branches.
• Test Gas Generating Systems operation.
• Maintain housekeeping standards.

Factory & Maintenance Manager required in Cape Town.

A market leader in medical gas and oxygen generation, based in Retreat, Cape Town, is seeking a Factory & Maintenance Manager.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical aptitude and a proven track record in managing and supporting production staff, while taking full accountability for factory operations, medical pipeline installations, and support for the maintenance and installation teams.

Location: Onsite Retreat, Cape Town (Consideration will be given to Cape Town Residents only).

Minimum Requirements:
