(Maintenance Technician / Facility Service Technician)

Part-Time Maintenance Position (32 hours or less per week)

Overview

Assure prompt and efficient maintenance and handy man duties of senior living community. Performs a variety of jobs both inside and outside the building, such as collecting a disposing of rubbish, shoveling snow and dirt, replacing light bulbs, cleaning trashcans, replacing filters, and other possible strenuous activities. Responsible for keeping the grounds and building neat, clean and safe for staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities

  1. Check with supervisor for each day's schedule.
  2. Inspect appliances, etc., routinely to make minor repairs as preventive maintenance.
  3. Replace furnace/air conditioner filters on a regularly scheduled basis.
  4. Keep door knobs and locks on doors/windows working properly.
  5. Assure that exterior of community (including porches and guardrails) is in good order and that scheduled yard work, etc. has been completed.
  6. Replace any broken windows and make sure all windows can be raised/lowered easily.
  7. Make sure alarm systems are operating properly.
  8. Monitor roof and plumbing of the community for leaks.
  9. Monitor condition of furnishings and report when they need replacing.
  10. Keep fire extinguishers updated and check for fire hazards (receptacles, panel boxes, wiring).
  11. Handle problems as they arise.
  12. Perform other duties as required by circumstances.
  13. Help maintain the self-respect, personal dignity and physical safety of each .
  14. Be familiar with and able to apply all the home's accident, fire safety, OSHA and emergency procedures.
  15. Be familiar with the Adult Care Home ' Bill of Rights and assist with exercising these rights.
  16. Assure careful treatment of Adult Care Home equipment and utilization of supplies.
  17. Be responsible for reading and adhering to all Adult Care Home and employee policies.
  18. Participate in job-related continuing education as required by ED/Administrator.

Qualifications

  1. Must possess relative experience or meet competency requirements
  2. Must be able to read, write, understand and follow directions
  3. Must not have substantiated findings on the NC Personnel Registry or Health Care Program
  4. Must have a clear SBI and DMV record and maintain them during period of employment
  5. Must have a valid NC Driver's License.
  6. Must have had at least 8 years of driving experience, as this is a requirement of company's liability insurance carrier.
  7. Must be able to Lift, Push, & Pull a Minimum of 50 Pounds
