Job Summary :
- Air Products South Africa is seeking a Facility Foreman to oversee the production and distribution of all packaged gases at our facility in Cape Town.
Key Responsibilities :
- Stock Control and Forecasting : Oversee and manage inventory levels, ensuring accurate forecasting to meet production demands.
- Production : Coordinate and supervise the production process.
- Distribution : Manage the distribution to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products to customers, optimizing routes and logistics.
- Training : Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of team members, ensuring compliance with company standards and practices.
- SHERQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, and Quality) : Ensure adherence to safety, health, environmental, risk management, and quality assurance protocols to maintain a safe and compliant workplace.
- Deputizes : Carries out any other duties as instructed by the Facility Supervisor / Regional Sales Manager to minimise non-productive time.
Qualifications and Skills :
- Minimum of Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science.
- Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Operations Management or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of heavy-duty driving experience in the Gas / Chemical or associated industry.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a Production and Distribution environment within the Gas or related industry.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory and practical application experience in SHERQ and ISO management systems.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in managing shifts, manpower costs, and customer relationships.
- Medically fit, capable of undertaking physical work, and available to work shifts and overtime as required.
- Proven experience with RTMS systems and Dangerous Goods conveyance.
- A valid Forklift and truck-mounted crane license.
- Recommended to possess a Code 14 unendorsed driver's license with PDrP (DG) classification.
- Ability to meet deadlines and perform effectively under pressure.
- Computer-literate, Proficient in the MS Office Suite.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to lead and collaborate within a diverse team.
