Job summary

Logicalis SA is seeking a Data Centre Technician to ensure smooth operation of on-site data centres, server rooms, boardrooms, and IS workspaces. You will work with the Facilities Manager to support HVAC, UPS, generators, and environmental monitoring, ensuring continuity and reliability of critical infrastructure.

The role requires extensive local travel across Gauteng and adjacent regions, strong communication skills, and the ability to drive issues to resolution in a fast-paced ICT environment.

• Experience in HVAC (Cooling), power redundancy (UPS, inverter, generator), environmental monitoring, fire detection, access control.

Responsibilities

• Identify and action or escalate risks.
• Monitor and ensure the functioning of data centre and server room facilities.
• Ensure the proper planning, installation, and commissioning of new data centre services as needed.
• Liaise with vendors for the management of current services, and the planning and installation of new services.
• Decommissioning and storage or disposal of facilities that is no longer required by the client.
• Plans, direct and controls data centre and server room facilities on behalf of client.
• Experience in Video conferring and audio-visual infrastructure.
• Experience in fast paced ICT delivery environments with competing and changing priorities.
