Job description

Responsibilities

The Facilities Manager is responsible for establishing work procedures and processes for all technical, soft services, and business support functions. The incumbent will also assume overall accountability for planning, scheduling, monitoring, and executing all maintenance-related aspects, building information management systems, planned inspections, and auditing of buildings within their portfolio. Consideration must be given to the vision and strategic objectives of the organization. The incumbent is also accountable for managing the operational activities of their team, including staff issues, financial management, budgeting, and other related management tasks. Planning, organizing, leading, and control are integral to their daily routine.

Purpose

To engage in the planning, management, and monitoring of all aspects related to building management and inspections to ensure quality standards are maintained or improved. Additionally, to build strong customer relationships and meet or exceed expectations.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manpower allocation, assessment, and performance management.
  • Supervises and coordinates all maintenance services and repairs related to buildings and equipment.
  • Handles emergencies and ensures responsible backup is available for corrective actions.
  • Implements maintenance and procurement of materials and parts, schedules installations, and oversees repairs to ensure safety and timeliness.
  • Develops and executes preventative maintenance programs for utility systems, equipment, and buildings.
  • Conducts in-service training and implements safety regulations and programs.
  • Maintains accurate records of equipment inspections, preventative maintenance, staff rotations, and overtime.
  • Manages and reports on the project budget.
  • Performs any other duties as required by the post level or the National Facilities Manager.
  • Ensures compliance with all health and safety requirements.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in senior management within FM.
