About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to oversee all maintenance operations for their campus in Stellenbosch . This leadership role involves managing a team of maintenance technicians, coordinating daily operations, and ensuring that all facilities and equipment are kept in optimal working condition. You will be responsible for planning and executing maintenance schedules, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. This is a key position for an individual passionate about facility management and team leadership, contributing to a safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing environment for all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor a team of maintenance staff, including electricians, plumbers, and general maintenance personnel.
• Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for all buildings and grounds.
• Oversee the repair and upkeep of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural components.
• Manage vendor relationships and contractor services for specialized maintenance and repair work.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Respond to and coordinate resolution of urgent maintenance issues and emergencies.

Requirements

• Proven experience in facilities maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, structural).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience with budget management and vendor contract negotiation.
• Proficiency in using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is desirable.
• Ability to effectively troubleshoot and resolve a wide range of maintenance issues.
