My client is looking for a dynamic Facilities Assistant to support the Facilities Manager with the smooth operation and maintenance of the facility, supporting a safe, efficient, and productive work environment.
Key Performance Areas and Responsibilities :
Maintenance and Repairs
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance repairs on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and lighting.
- Perform preventative maintenance duties in the facility.
- Ensure all equipment and systems are functioning correctly and efficiently.
- Monitor, coordinate, and inspect work done by external contractors.
- Assist the Facilities Manager in sourcing external contractors.
- Test and maintain the facility’s security and safety systems.
- Report to the Facilities Manager regarding issues resolved, those needing attention, and those currently in progress.
Health and Safety Compliance :
- Assist the Facilities Manager in ensuring the facility complies with health and safety regulations, including conducting regular risk assessments.
- Assist in the implementation of safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Facility Management :
- Assist in managing building infrastructure and services, ensuring the workplace meets the needs of employees.
Support Services :
- Set up workspaces for new hires, including desks and other necessary equipment.
General Upkeep :
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of common areas, restrooms, and outdoor spaces.
- Assist with office moves and setting up conference rooms for meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications :
- Higher Certificate in Plumbing and/or Electrical certification.
Required Experience :
- Previous experience in a facilities management role.
- Maintenance experience in Facilities / Estates / Corporate Buildings or grounds.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations and compliance.
- Experience in gardening / grounds maintenance.
- Experience working on domestic electrical installations, basic plumbing, painting, tiling, and general building repairs.
- Proven experience as a maintenance worker.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
Recommendations :
- Completed Occupational Health and Safety Course.
- First Aid certificate.
- Fire Awareness Certificate.
- Own reliable vehicle/bike.
- Live within 30 minutes of the office.
Special requirement(s) :
- Will be required to work on weekends and after hours, depending on operational needs.
- Carpentry courses and/or experience.
- Painting experience.
- Driver’s Licence.
