Our client, a high-end fashion brand based in Cape Town, is seeking a Fabric Assistant / Fabric Coordinator to join their team.

With extensive textile knowledge and a passion for sourcing, the ideal candidate will play a vital role in sourcing fabrics to ensure the design team has the perfect fabrics for every collection.

  • Working hours: Mon – Fri, with work required every alternate Saturday (9am – 2pm), with a weekday off during that week
  • Travel allowance: Compensation will be provided for excess travel and occasional visits to suppliers and fabric markets.

Location: Office / Primary Workspace: Durbanville, Cape Town / Retail Store: Cape Town City Centre

ESSENTIAL: Proven fabric knowledge and experience in sourcing or textile coordination

ESSENTIAL: Relevant degree or diploma in Textile Design, Fashion Design, or a related field.

ESSENTIAL: Own reliable transport with a valid driver’s license

ADVANTAGEOUS: Previous experience in fashion, textiles, or retail industry

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Research, source, and secure fabrics that meet quality, design, and budget requirements.
  • Track fabric orders, manage stock levels, and ensure timely delivery to the design team.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, mills, and wholesalers.
  • Advise on fabric choices based on drape, texture, and suitability for garments.
  • Assist with fittings, sampling, and seasonal collection preparation.
  • Assist customers and support the team every alternate Saturday in-store.
  • Travel for fabric sourcing and supplier visits (own reliable transport required; travel compensation for excessive travel).
