An established giant and market leader in the commercial vehicle and automotive assembly sector, is seeking a strategically minded, commercially sharp F&I Department Manager to head their finance and insurance division based in Isando. This position is custom-built for an experienced finance leader who excels at credit risk evaluation, asset management, and high-level stakeholder negotiation.
Operating at the core of the commercial sales and finance operation, you will hold total operational accountability for credit scoring models, debtor portfolio health, financial compliance, and cross-border finance transactions across Southern Africa. Key Responsibilities:
- Credit Risk & Portfolio Management: Oversee end-to-end credit scoring processes, perform deep-dive financial analysis, evaluate creditworthiness, and manage the health of the commercial asset portfolio.
- Debtors & Asset Governance: Drive financial acumen across the debtors function, ensuring robust asset management controls, working capital optimization, and minimized non-performing exposures.
- Cross-Border Operations: Direct and manage complex cross-border trade transactions, finance structures, and compliance requirements within the Southern African region.
- Financial Compliance & Governance: Ensure all financing, credit, and insurance operations strictly comply with automotive industry regulations, statutory frameworks, and internal risk policies.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Team Leadership: Partner with internal commercial teams, external banking institutions, and key corporate clients, while mentoring, leading, and developing the internal F&I team.
Job Experience and Skills Required:
- Formal Education (Non-Negotiable): A completed BCom Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.
- Commercial Track Record: A minimum of 5 years of solid, reference-backed experience in an F&I, credit management, or commercial asset finance role.
- Industry Sector: Proven experience within the Automotive or Commercial Vehicle sector is essential.
- Specialized Technical Competencies:
- Demonstrated expertise in Cross-Border vehicle financing and regional trade compliance.
- Comprehensive command of credit scoring systems, portfolio risk management, and financial statement analysis.
- Hands-on experience in asset management and commercial debtor governance.
- Non-negotiables: Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities, elite negotiation and stakeholder management skills, sound commercial judgment, and the confidence to operate effectively under pressure.
