Job summary

Rural Connect in Worcester, Western Cape, seeks an experienced heavy vehicle driver to operate truck-mounted crane, TLB and forklift, ensuring safety and timely deliveries.

You must hold an EC license, PDP, NQF level 4 and have at least five years’ experience driving heavy vehicles; willingness to work away from home is required. Further duties include maintenance liaison and supervising assistants.

Qualifications

• NQF level 4 qualification.
• Valid unexpired EC driver's license.
• Valid PDP (Professional Drivers Permit).
• Five years’ experience driving heavy motor vehicles.
• Experience with truck-mounted crane, TLB or forklift is advantageous.
• Strong client orientation, accountability and ethical conduct.

Responsibilities

• Operate an extra heavy motor vehicle in line with road ordinances and safety rules.
• Transport personnel, equipment and materials and load/offload goods.
• Inspect vehicles for safety defects and report faults promptly.
• Assist maintenance teams with equipment and vehicle tasks.
• Maintain trip and fuel logs and ensure safe cargo storage on route.
• Willingness to work away from home and at multiple sites in the Western Cape.
