External Sales Representative (Petroleum) – Johannesburg.

A well-established company in the lubricants, oils, and fuel solutions sector is looking for an experienced and driven External Sales Representative to join their Johannesburg team.

This role is perfect for a hunter with a proven ability to secure new business and a relationship-builder who can effectively service and grow existing accounts. You’ll be part of a team committed to delivering high-performance products and excellent customer service across various industrial and commercial sectors.

Salary: R15 000 – R20 000 basic per month + Company Car + Fuel + Cell Phone + Uncapped Commission.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years external sales experience
  • Proven track record in both business development (cold calling, prospecting) and key account management (client retention, upselling)
  • Experience selling into industrial, automotive, or manufacturing environments (lubricants, fuels, chemicals, or related)
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Able to travel locally within Gauteng and occasionally beyond

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within your assigned territory
  • Build, manage, and maintain strong relationships with existing clients
  • Conduct site visits, product demos, and client meetings regularly
  • Prepare and present quotations, proposals, and service offerings
  • Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets
  • Keep accurate records of sales activity and maintain CRM updates
  • Stay informed on competitor activity and industry trends
  • Report regularly to management on pipeline activity and sales performance
