Job Title: External Sales Representative

A well-established company in Johannesburg is seeking an External Sales Representative to join their team.

Requirements:
  • 2 – 3 years’ experience as an External Sales Representative
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Matric or equivalent qualification
Duties:
Client Acquisition and Lead Generation
  • Identify and target potential customers through research, networking, cold calling, and referrals
  • Schedule and conduct face-to-face meetings with prospective clients
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, or conferences to generate leads
Sales Presentations and Product Demonstrations
  • Deliver tailored presentations or demos to showcase product/service benefits
  • Answer client questions and handle objections confidently and knowledgeably
Account Management
  • Maintain relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business
  • Follow up regularly with clients to assess satisfaction and identify upselling opportunities
Territory Management
  • Plan and organize daily travel routes within the assigned sales territory
  • Track visits, calls, and results using CRM or reporting tools
Sales Negotiation and Closing Deals
  • Prepare and present proposals or quotes based on customer needs
  • Negotiate pricing and contract terms within company guidelines
  • Close sales and ensure proper documentation is completed
Market Intelligence
  • Monitor competitor activity, industry trends, and market conditions
  • Provide feedback to the internal team on market demands and customer preferences
Reporting and Administration
  • Maintain accurate records of sales, contacts, and progress
  • Submit weekly or monthly reports to sales management
  • Meet or exceed sales targets and KPIs
