Position: External Sales Representative
Salary: R25k / month
Location: Based in Johannesburg, Boksburg
Our client, specializing in industrial hoses, is seeking an External Sales Representative for their Boksburg branch.
The ideal candidate is motivated with a proven sales track record, especially within the hose industry.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead Generation: Identify potential clients via cold calling, networking, and online research; build a sales pipeline.
- Client Engagement: Conduct meetings, presentations, and demos; understand client needs; build long-term relationships.
- Negotiations: Negotiate terms ensuring win-win outcomes; provide quotes and proposals.
- Market Research: Stay informed on industry trends; analyze data for new opportunities.
- Internal Collaboration: Work with marketing, product development, and support teams; assist with stocktakes if needed.
- Record Keeping & Reporting: Maintain detailed records; submit regular sales reports.
- Achieve Sales Targets: Set and exceed sales goals; contribute to company growth.
- Call Cycle Management: Develop outreach plans; schedule and follow up with clients; gather feedback and adapt strategies.
- Documentation: Keep records of interactions, preferences, and concerns.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Self-motivated and driven.
- Good communicator and team player.
- Honest with stable employment history.
- Knowledge of Nelspruit area advantageous.
- 5+ years external sales experience in flexible plastics industry.
- Understanding of extrusion processes.
- Fluent in English; Afrikaans / Zulu beneficial.
- Ability to work independently and source business via cold calling.
- Willing to travel within Gauteng and occasionally outside.
- Strong self-management and sales initiation skills.
- Passionate about sales and plastics industry.
