Job description

We are looking for a motivated and results-driven Sales Engineer to promote and sell our products and services in Southern Africa.

The ideal candidate will play a key role in meeting with potential and existing clients, negotiating contracts, and developing long-term customer relationships.

This role requires frequent travel within assigned territories and the ability to identify new sales opportunities while maintaining outstanding customer service.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Travel to assigned territories to meet with potential and existing clients, negotiate sales contracts, and promote products and services.
  2. Actively identify and cultivate new sales opportunities within the industry.
  3. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new clients by providing excellent support and service, promoting customer loyalty and repeat business.
  4. Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  5. Conduct cold calling, generate new leads, and establish new business relationships.
  6. Recommend marketing strategies tailored to specific regions or demographics.
  7. Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market changes.
  8. Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and client meetings to identify sales opportunities and strengthen existing client relationships.
  9. Investigate client complaints, develop solutions, and prepare reports with recommendations for management.
  10. Negotiate and close sales deals while ensuring adherence to company pricing and profitability guidelines.
  11. Build a strong network of contacts to aid in sales and business development.
  12. Serve as the main point of contact between the company and clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  13. Recommend improvements to the sales team to optimize performance and boost sales results.
  14. Maintain a professional company image at all times and address client queries promptly and effectively.
  15. Handle various technology and equipment necessary for fulfilling job requirements.
  16. Assist with customer account management and ensure smooth order fulfillment.
  17. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless processing and delivery of orders and resolve any issues with order status.
  18. Coordinate with logistics and finance departments for timely delivery, accurate invoicing, and preparation of COD packs.
  19. Liaise with suppliers to find items requested by clients, whether through known suppliers or alternative sources.
  20. Prepare and submit sales forecasts (pipeline) to management for review.
  21. Manage daily administrative responsibilities such as updating client ratings and maintaining accurate sales records.
  22. Submit regular reports such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly activity reports.
  23. Attend training sessions, sales meetings, and company-wide meetings as required.
  24. Ensure cloud-based documents (pipeline, client ratings, etc.) are maintained.
