About the Role
The main purpose of this position is to increase sales; however, the Account Manager’s role is to oversee a portfolio of assigned customers, develop new business from existing clients and actively seek new sales opportunities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Overall responsibilities:
- Serve as the lead point of contact for all customer account management matters
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships
- Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectives
- Communicate Weekly/Monthly/quarterly progress reports to clients where required
- Develop new business and/or identify areas of improvement to meet sales targets
- Forecast and track key account metrics (e.g. weekly/monthly forecasts)
- Prepare reports on existing account status, sales pipeline and call cycle
- Collaborate with Regional / Area Sales Manager to identify and grow opportunities within territory
- Assist with challenging client requests or issue escalations as needed
- Target opposition accounts for new business development
Daily responsibilities:
- Achievement of Sales Target
- Customer Relationship Management: Building and maintaining relationships with existing clients, addressing their needs and concerns, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Sales Presentations and Meetings: Conducting product presentations, training and meetings with potential clients to showcase the benefits of the products or services being offered.
- Prospecting and Lead Generation: Identifying potential customers and generating new leads through various methods like cold calling
- New client onboarding: Handling the paperwork and logistics related to onboarding of new customers, ensuring accurate processing, and following up.
- Collaboration: Working with other departments such as Marketing, Customer Service, and Sales Enablement to ensure a cohesive approach to meeting customer needs and achieving sales targets.
- Administrative Tasks: Managing emails, scheduling appointments, and handling other administrative duties that support sales activities.
- Reporting and Documentation: Keeping detailed records of sales activities, customer interactions, share of wallets, and sales performance metrics. Regularly updating CRM systems and preparing sales reports for management.
- Minimum of 5 valuable Customer interactions per day (this could be on the current portfolio and new business).

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
- Code 8 Drivers License and Roadworthy Vehicle
- Able to Travel within Gauteng
- Able to attend after hour functions on occasion
- 2 – 5 Years Sales experience
- 2 – 5 Years experience in the Motor / Insurance Industry
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
- Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, Power BI and Outlook)
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
