A leading retail group is seeking an Export Team Lead in South Africa to manage export processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Candidates should have a BCom degree in Supply Chain or Logistics and at least 5 years' management experience in supply chain/logistics. The role involves overseeing export shipments, liaising with regulatory bodies, and managing a team. Strong negotiation and people management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Min 5 years’ experience at Management Level in Supply Chain/Logistics.
• Min 5 years’ experience in Shipping/Import/Export across multiple industries.
• Prior clearing & Forwarding agent experience.
• Good understanding of diverse Product Range.

Responsibilities

• Manage export processes ensuring compliance and efficiency.
• Create export shipments daily using TradeCloud export system.
• Ensure Import Shipments into Namibia are properly processed.
• Work closely with Border Agents to resolve issues.
• Manage duty drawbacks on Imported goods now being exported.

Introduction

Clicks is on the hunt for an Export Team Lead. To manage the export processes for the group ensuring that all Cross Border and Export Shipments are despatched within the agreed timelines, at the lowest possible cost and ensuring that all regulatory and compliance matters are adhered to.

Job description

• To ensure all export shipments are created daily for all cross-border stores using the TradeCloud export system.
• To ensure Documentary Corrections or Cancellations are completed where necessary
• To ensure Import Shipments into Namibia are created using Namibia Customs Systems to ensure stock is accepted into the country of import.
• To work closely with Border Agents on issues arising at the border.
• To ensure Permit Application in Country of Trade for all Cross-Border stores that requires Permits based on commodity type or Tariff Codes Code are completed prior to trucks being despatched.
• To ensure that SADEC certificates are all on hand for all Shipments requiring certificates, thereby reducing duty spend in country of Import.
• To liaise with SARS/Customs Call Centre on Export Issues ensuring quick resolution of customs stops or detained shipments.
• To manage duty drawbacks on Imported goods now being exported and ensure 100% refunds.
• To liaise with IT on any IT related Matters as they arise to ensure the system is always fully operational.
• To review restricted products per country and update where necessary to ensure compliance standards are met at the border.
• To liaise with Finance on VAT and other Audits specifically related to Exports
• To foster and maintain relationships with 3rd party LSP to ensure Service Levels are adhered to.
• To foster and maintain relationships with Other Government Agencies.
• To manage the Export Clerk/s for functional delivery and proper execution of workload.
• To ensure compliance with all regulatory authorities in the various countries we trade in.
• To ensure Export Shipments are costed correctly and within the agreed timelines.
• To ensure that all 3rd Party LSP invoices are correct and paid within the agreed SLA.
• To perform as 2IC for shipping manager
