Legal Secretary – East London (Well-Established Firm)
Location: East London
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

A respected and long-standing law firm in East London is seeking a Legal Secretary to provide high-level support to fee earners across their busy legal teams. This is a client-facing role offering variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to work in a professional, friendly environment.

The Role
Your primary responsibility will be to assist fee earners in delivering legal services efficiently—enabling them to maximise their focus on client work. You'll also be a key point of contact for clients, requiring a professional and confident approach at all times.

Key duties include:

Audio typing and drafting correspondence from dictation

Preparing legal documents including lease extensions, deeds, completion statements, and Land Registry forms (via the portal)

Printing, scanning, photocopying, and managing couriers

Opening and closing client files

Handling incoming calls and emails, ensuring timely and accurate responses

General administrative support and dealing with client queries

Assisting with billing, liaising with fee earners and accounts team

Processing payments, cheques, and bank transfers

Occasional reception cover as needed

About You
Strong legal secretarial experience, ideally within property or private client law

Excellent typing, document preparation, and IT skills

Confident communicator with a professional, discreet manner

Highly organised and proactive with a positive, can-do attitude

Comfortable working independently and as part of a close-knit team

Experience with the Land Registry portal is highly desirable
