Qualifications

• Registered as a Professional Nurse with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
• Thorough knowledge of general and specialized nursing theory and practice.
• Ability to perform emergency procedures and coordinate patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan and implement individualized nursing care for patients and families.
• Coordinate patient care within the multidisciplinary health team.
• Initiate and manage emergency treatment (RESUS) as required.
• Prepare shift documentation reflecting patient status and staffing.
• Communicate with unit manager and other departments to resolve issues.
• Contribute to policy development and quality improvement initiatives.
