Experienced CNC Turner (Port Elizabeth)

NOV Rig South Africa is seeking a highly experienced CNC Turner with Milling experience. The job includes manufacturing components/parts to required specifications and quality standards in accordance with drawings, sketches, and/or verbal instructions by operating a CNC Lathe and/or Conventional Lathe.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operating CNC and Conventional Lathes
• Reading and understanding drawings and ensuring the correct drawing is used for the specific job
• Loading CNC lathe or manual lathe by either using an overhead crane or doing it manually
• Ensuring correct material usage
• Programming of CNC Lathe
• Identifying the correct tooling for the required application
• Loading and downloading approved programs to and from designated computer
• Being prepared to work overtime/shifts when required
• General maintenance of milling and/or lathe machines
• Ensuring machines are well lubricated as per the operating requirements

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

• Technical Grade 12 (N3); Qualified Turner Machinist
• Minimum 5 years’ experience within a heavy engineering environment
• Familiarity with Fanuc, Mazak, and Siemens controls; milling background would also be an advantage
• Ability to read and understand drawings
• Able to work under pressure
• Team player
• Problem-solving skills
