Job summary

Wild Dreams Hospitality seeks a hands-on conservation facilitator to join our remote expedition team in Hoedspruit, Limpopo. This live-in role blends conservation work with youth development and logistics across field sites. Candidates should hold FGASA or CATHSSETA, a valid First Aid certificate, and a PDP, plus comfort with off-grid living.

Qualifications

• FGASA or CATHSSETA guiding qualification is required.
• Valid First Aid Certificate is required.
• Valid PDP (Professional Driving Permit) is required.
• Citizen of SA or valid work permit to work in SA.
• Off-grid living experience with minimal facilities is expected.
• Experience in youth development or volunteer management is advantageous.
• Knowledge of Lowveld ecology and conservation practices is advantageous.
• Practical bush or maintenance skills are advantageous.
• Experience in community engagement or environmental education is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate conservation and environmental projects with young participants.
• Lead and support youth groups through expedition phases.
• Provide pastoral care and guide personal development of participants.
• Deliver environmental education in the field.
• Support community engagement and trek/adventure phases.
• Assist with camp logistics and wider expedition operations.

This is not a traditional safari guiding role — it's a dynamic, hands‑on position combining conservation facilitation, youth development, and expedition operations, suited to someone who thrives across remote, off‑grid environments and enjoys working closely with young people from around the world.

Core Criteria

• FGASA / CATHSSETA guiding qualification
• Valid First Aid Certificate
• Valid PDP (Professional Driving Permit)
• South African citizen or holder of a valid right to work in South Africa
• Comfortable with remote, off-grid living — tents, cold showers, communal facilities, and physically demanding conditions
• Confident, adaptable, and able to work across varied settings, from community projects to conservation sites and trek phases
• Experience in youth development or volunteer management advantageous
• Knowledge of Lowveld ecology and conservation practices advantageous
• Strong practical bush or maintenance skills advantageous
• Experience in community engagement or environmental education advantageous
