SUMMARY :

Our client, a global leader in the mining industry, is looking for an experienced Human Resources Superintendent to lead HR operations at their Smelter plant in the DRC. This is a key expat role overseeing end-to-end HR delivery, workforce planning, compliance, and people leadership in a high-performance environment.

POSITION INFO : Requirements :

  • Degree in HR, Labour Science, or related field
  • 8–10 years’ senior HR experience in mining / heavy industry (Smelter experience preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of DRC labour legislation and community dynamics
  • Fluent in English (French, Mandarin, or Swahili is a plus)
  • Strong leadership, cultural sensitivity, and problem-solving skills
  • Must have a laptop, printer, and own vehicle

Key Focus Areas :

  • Lead and align all HR operations with labour law, site requirements, and company values
  • Develop and execute recruitment and labour plans
  • Manage labour budgets, remuneration decisions, and reporting
  • Oversee leave, time & attendance systems, and digital HR transitions
  • Handle employee movements : promotions, demotions, transfers, and exits
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and lead a team of HR professionals
  • Ensure compliance with HSEQ and support transformation initiatives
