Are you a visionary investment leader ready to shape the future of real estate fund management across Africa and beyond?

A prominent property investment and development firm is seeking an Executive Head : Investments and Fund Management to lead and expand its Fund Management Division. This is a high-impact leadership role, suited to an individual with deep expertise in real estate investment, a strong commercial mindset, and the drive to deliver strong investor returns through strategic platform growth.

In this pivotal role, the successful candidate will :

• Set and drive the strategic direction of the fund management business in alignment with broader organisational objectives.
• Source and structure complex real estate investment opportunities, leading transactions from origination to exit.
• Develop new investment products across sectors and geographies, including themed and impact-focused vehicles, with the objective of raising third-party capital.
• Manage multiple fund platforms, ensuring delivery on targeted IRRs and investment mandates.
• Build and maintain high-level relationships with institutional investors, asset consultants, and lenders.
• Lead the preparation and presentation of investment submissions to boards and investment committees.
• Oversee capital deployment, asset management, risk evaluation, and investor reporting across the investment lifecycle.
• Drive compliance with governance frameworks, mandate delegations, shareholder agreements, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor covenant compliance, funding arrangements, and financial health across all investment platforms.
• Spearhead investor relations strategies, including reporting (financial and ESG), stakeholder communication, and distribution approvals.
• Act as a Key Person on behalf of the Investment Manager on various platforms, including impact-focused funds.

Leadership responsibilities include :

• Managing and mentoring a high-performing team of investment and fund management professionals.
• Defining KPIs, setting divisional objectives, and ensuring professional development within the team.
• Driving operational excellence through efficient process implementation, performance monitoring, and cross-functional collaboration.

The ideal candidate will bring :

• A strong academic foundation, including an Honours degree in Finance, Business or Property Studies; CA(SA) or CFA designation preferred.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in real estate investment management, including exposure to development, debt structuring, and impact investing.
• Proven success in capital raising and managing complex investment platforms.
• Superior financial modelling, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Outstanding leadership and communication capabilities, with a clear ability to influence at executive and board level.
