EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR: PEOPLE MANAGEMENT & ENGAGEMENT

• Reference: AP1110 • P3 • 5-year contract

This role requires strategic leadership and accountability in people-centric areas, including Human Resources, Gender-based Violence prevention, Gender Diversity, and Marketing & Communications.

You will report to the Vice-Chancellor, overseeing a team comprising the Directors of Human Resources, Marketing & Communications, and GBV Prevention & Gender Diversity.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. A Master's degree; a Doctoral degree is advantageous.
  2. Specialization in human resources management, industrial psychology, or a related field.
  3. At least 12 years of relevant experience, including 5 years in senior or executive management roles.

Additional Attributes:

  • Participation in the Executive Management Committee, reporting directly to the Vice-Chancellor.
  • Strong knowledge of people management, stakeholder engagement, and legal/regulatory frameworks in higher education.
  • Experience with gender-based violence issues and related management.
  • Professional registration with bodies such as HPCSA or SABPP is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, marketing, and reputational management skills.
