Qualifications

• PhD/Doctorate or DTech in Hospitality or related field (Hospitality, Food & Beverage, Professional Cookery, Management)
• Master's in Hospitality Management
• Minimum 10 years' post-qualification experience in a reputable higher education institution
• At least 5 years in a senior managerial role
• Evidence of research and publications in DHET accredited journals
• Evidence of successful supervision of individuals or groups

Responsibilities

• Academic management and strategy development to meet faculty objectives
• Manage department resources to achieve strategic goals and sustainability
• Oversee enrolment planning and course offerings in alignment with strategy
• Lead CPUT Hotel School Restaurant operations and related administration
• Ensure quality assurance and accurate reporting of results
• Develop and implement faculty/department policies and governance mechanisms
• Oversee recruitment, performance management and staff development
• Foster industry partnerships and community engagement for curriculum relevance
• Lead research initiatives and ensure alignment with faculty targets
• Manage safety, risk, and compliance within the department
